Samadhi – resting the mind, wisdom – the only way to destroy the kilesas, 1st 3 fetters – doubt/fiddling with the precepts/view that the body is self, purpose of precepts – protection from hell, most people go to hell, not doubting heaven/hell and kamma, 3rd fetter – thinking the car and driver are one and the same – like the body and citta, the citta controls the body, the body doesn't move in deep samadhi, 15 years of training the body – life after life – it then soon breaks down, breaking the 3rd fetter – breaking the body into pieces – what remains? The body is a prison, the body is full of filth – turns nice things into shit - requires much maintenance – gives many problems, the nature of the sense 'pleasures', greed and hate burn us up, we live only for the body – but then it dies, monks look after the body in just 1.5 hours per day, we want the body for the senses, thinking is the westerners favourite sense, senses are anicca/anatta/dukkha, tearing off our skin, asubha – bringing up the unpleasant – balancing the scale to overcome greed and hate.
